Current Affairs of October 2014 - Part I

Hi people... This is going to be my first blog.

Here is a list of current affairs for October 2014:

1. N. Gopalaswami to head kalakshetra foundation. Kalakshetra foundation was formed to nurture India's artistic traditions.

2. Government announces Rs. 745 crores package for Jammu & Kashmir.

3. Sukhoi-30 MKI had crashed in a field near Pune. Government grounds entire fleet of Sukhoi-30 each aircraft to undergo technical check.

4. Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel, 31st October to be celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. Sardar Patel was born on 31st October, 1875.

5. International Boxing Association (AIBA) suspends Sarita Devi dor not accepting bronze medal.

6. Government approves four strategic rail lines along China border. They are in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

7. India - Mexico sign pacts for space co-operation. The pacts were signed at the 6th session of joint commission between India and Mexico held in New Delhi.

8. 69th United Nations Day observed on October 24th.

9. Syrian army recaptures Morek from Al-Qaeda.

10. Government orders to merge NSEL (National Spot Exchange Ltd.) with FTIL (Financial Technologies India Ltd.)

11. Nigeria declared ebola free by World Health Organization.

12. China has assured India to open new pilgrim route to Kailash Mansarovar by 2015.

13. Police Commemoration Day celebrated on October 21st.

14. Manohar Lal Khattar to be new Chief Minister of Haryana.

15. Indian Hockey Coach, Terry Walsh resign and then later withdrew his resignation.

16. India wins Sultan of Johor cup title in hockey.

17. Longest serving MLA in Maharashtra Ganpatrao  Deshmukh wins 11th time and creates record.

18. Harshit Saumitra, a five year old boy climbs kalapathar peak. Kalapathar pathar is 200m above the base camp of Mount Everest in Nepal. Creates world record.

19. 300 houses handed overvto sikkim earthquake affected under REDRH (Reconstruction of Earthquake Damaged Rural Houses Project) scheme.

20. Gopinath Munde's daughter, Pritam Munde creates record of maximum victory margin in Lok Sabha.
